Bindu Sethi

Bindu, who has over two decades’ experience in advertising and marketing, lives and breathes brand strategies. Penetration, consumption, growth percentages, category revival and brand choices rule her life.

The 90s saw Bindu at JWT go from Account Planning Manager to Senior VP and National Planning Director. She built key brand properties that fuelled consumption like “Mummy I’m hungry” and “Just two minutes”.Pitting Sunrise against Bru and KitKat against Cadbury’s Dairy Milk, enabled these challenger brands to carve out their rightful place in the market.

From relaunching Red Label; winning Motorola, Pizza Hut, Indian Army, Reebok, Rayban; consolidating Nestle and Pepsi; re-examining Pears, Ford Ikon, and Wills; and devising growth strategies for Horlicks, it’s been an evolutionary journey. Her advertising career has been enriched with her four year stint at Hindustan Unilever in India and across the APAC region. There her work spanned hair care and health brands, with the responsibility of reviving Clinic Plus and Sunsilk.

Somewhere along the way, Bindu also conceptualized, created and ran a 12 bedroom lodge on the lakes of Bhimtal, commanding premium pricing and entertaining a plethora of famous people. Most importantly, her contagious passion for the business of brands has infected many a planner that she has mentored and groomed.
