Drawing lines, Defining boundaries

Moderated by: Revati Laul
Speakers: Ashwin Mohan,  Kaizaad Kotwal, Sonali Khan, Camini Kumar, Vishnu Som

Today, openly discussing emotional violence, trauma and sexual harassment is a new phenomenon in our country, yet even with this heightened awareness, there is a molestation case every 15 minutes, a rape every 20 minutes, a sexual harassment case every 53 minutes, a case of cruelty every 9 minutes each and every day in our country.

Statistics show that 70% of the time in cases of violence, the victim knows the perpetrator. In our Boundaries session, we will explore how we can support and protect ourselves both from physical and verbal abuse; gaining insight, tools and tips that will help you make an informed assessment when you encounter inappropriate comments, behavior or a potential assault.

But equally important, we will also explore ways in which we can teach both young boys and girls about these important boundaries, as they are the future. If we can change their reality, the future will be different.

“A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .... enough money within her control to move out and rent a place of her own even if she never wants to or needs to...” Pamela Redmond Satran

Let's re-image 'Money Minded' and make it a term to be proud of.

The old connotation that a woman who thinks about money is vulgar is out-of-touch with reality.  It's time, as women, that we stop sticking our heads in the sand when it comes to money.  How you invest and where you invest will determine the quality of your life experience as you get older or in case of an emergency or mishap.  In this session we will explore these topics and more and we will celebrate being 'Money Minded!'
